Kim Barnes
I've had an inclination towards subtle perception and energetic exploration ever since my parents took me to receive the Reiki I attunement when I was 12. After studying literature in college, I worked for many years on organic and biodynamic farms.
In its meandering way, life brought me to Harbin Hot Springs in northern California, where I worked in the Health Services office booking bodywork appointments with a staff of 40 gifted healing practitioners. In order to match clients with the right practitioner, I received bodywork from everyone on staff, and I gravitated towards the gentler and subtler modalities, particularly Craniosacral Therapy. I found that Craniosacral helped me to develop the capacity to engage in an internal conversation with my body, tracking sensation and finding more space and ease in my own system. I began to sense that healing was less about manipulating the body, and more about creating the conditions for the body's inherent intelligence to unfold.
In 2015, I embarked on my own journey towards facilitating healing for others, studying for four years with wildernessFusion, a small earth-based healing school with an Apache lineage. In 2024, I enrolled in the two-year Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy Foundation Training at the School of Inner Health in Denver, where I deepened into my knowledge of anatomy, skills of perception, and listening presence.
As I continue to expand my knowledge and skills, I feel passionate about tending the profound thresholds of birth and death, supporting mothers and babies through pregnancy and birth, and providing support in the dying process.
It is a profound honor for me to attend to my clients' bodies and facilitate lasting change in their lives.
